Step 1: Unbox and Inspect

Begin by unboxing your Trezor device. Ensure the packaging is sealed and untampered. Inside, you should find:

• USB cable
• Recovery seed cards
• User manual
• Stickers

If anything appears damaged or suspicious, contact Trezor support immediately before proceeding.

Step 2: Visit Trezor.io/Start

Connect your Trezor to your computer using the provided USB cable. Open your browser and go to Trezor.io/Start. This is the only official site for setting up your device. Avoid third-party websites to prevent scams and phishing attempts.

From this page, choose your device model and follow the on-screen prompts.

Step 3: Install Trezor Suite

Trezor Suite is the official desktop and web application for managing your crypto securely. Download it from the Trezor website for your operating system (Windows, macOS, or Linux). Installing the Suite allows you to:

• Initialize and backup your wallet
• View account balances
• Send and receive cryptocurrencies
• Update firmware

Step 4: Set Up a New Wallet

Trezor will now generate your recovery seed — a 12- or 24-word phrase that is the backup to your wallet.

Step 5: Write Down Your Recovery Seed

This is the most important step. Your recovery seed is the only way to recover your funds if your device is lost, stolen, or damaged.

• Write the seed words on the recovery card provided.
• Do not take a photo or store it digitally.
• Keep the recovery card in a secure and offline location.

Never share your recovery seed with anyone. Trezor or any support agent will never ask for it.

Step 6: Set PIN and Device Label

To add an extra layer of security, you’ll be prompted to set a PIN. Choose a PIN that’s easy for you to remember but hard for others to guess. You can also set a name (label) for your device to make it easily identifiable.

Step 7: Start Using Your Wallet

With your device initialized and secured, you can begin sending, receiving, and managing your crypto assets. Trezor Suite supports a wide range of cryptocurrencies, including Bitcoin, Ethereum, Litecoin, and ERC-20 tokens.
